What You’ll Do
Simplify the architecture of the existing system to conform to organizational patterns and enable small, daily, automated releases.
Introduce one new technology, service, and ideas that help us meet the needs of our constantly-shifting regulatory landscape.
Improve the robustness of our system so that public records with known flaws are permanently corrected, as measured by a significant decrease in the percentage of disputed consumer records.
Enhance our monitoring systems and improve observability so that our data and processes can be audited internally in under two days, and externally with ease.
Ensure that no consumer suffers disparate impact or adverse action as a result of inherent bias within public record data.
Introduce flexibility into the product that empowers customers to run screenings in a way that meets their business needs while maintaining compliance with local regulations.

What We’re Looking For

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to be a major contributor on our Tenant Screening development team. Your responsibilities will be to support our property manager customers and our consumers by helping build the best screening system in the nation. This requires taking extreme ownership of any opportunities to make the product more accurate, more compliant, more simple, more flexible, and more intelligent.

Must-Haves

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• Min. 4 to 6 years’ engineering experience in a SaaS environment.
• Very strong technical and coding skills.
• Good working knowledge of current technology trends.
• Proven experience working across all levels of the development stack.
• Excited by the challenge of being thrown into the deep end, and able to start swimming quickly. Sees problems as opportunities.
• Active listener and compassionate communicator who leads by example and by serving others.
• Works very hard, stays positive, and perseveres through adversity.
• Joyfully accepts and incorporates feedback. Humble and willing to admit mistakes.
• Takes extreme ownership of team success and customer outcomes, and operates with the mindset that no job is too low. Willing to roll up sleeves and work with junior engineers.
• Focuses on small, frequent releases aimed at gathering data to learn what works for the customer, and what doesn’t.
• Possesses a knack for knowing when to either prioritize or delay refactoring, weighing business outcomes thoughtfully with technical goals. Understands when the perfect becomes the enemy of the good.

• Experience integrating and working with third-party vendors to reduce risk, improve machine learning models, and reframe compliance as code.
• At least 3 years spent successfully designing and building systems that process, store, and serve public record data.
