About the Position

We are looking for an Accountant to join our New York team supporting both our local and global accounting operations.

You’ll work alongside team members to maintain the company’s internal books and records and help with our month-end close process. This will include the preparation of various reconciliations and financial schedules as we prepare financial statements.

This role will provide a great introduction and exposure to the larger operations of the firm. The right person must be discreet, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.

Getting the details right in accounting is an extremely important part of our business, and we take pride in our ability to stay on schedule without sacrificing accuracy. Each member of our team is highly organized, proactive, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.

The legal and regulatory environment in which we operate is constantly shifting. Your previous industry expertise will be valuable to the team as we collaborate with outside auditors and advisors on accounting policy decisions and US GAAP interpretations.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2-3 years of experience in a public accounting firm within the audit practice, or relevant experience in the financial services industry
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP
• Able to produce timely and accurate records, especially work paper documentation
• Supportive and reliable team player with a collaborative mindset
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Able to work independently and proactively in a deadline-driven environment
• Motivated to improve processes where possible
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Preferred requirements:

• CPA Certification
• Experience on audits of broker-dealers
• Familiarity with UK GAAP and/or IFRS
