What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Business Product Organization provides product management and architecture expertise across a multi-vendor, multi-tower, and complex portfolio of products and services in support of our Verizon Business Group (VBG) customers. As the MTIPS Capacity and Monitoring Manager, you will working on the Verizon MTIPS product offering, you will be responsible for the identifying key deficiencies and growth needs for all aspects of one of our most important assets: Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS). You will interact with many internal and external teams and partners, collaborate on solutions to solve complex monitoring problems and ensure the platform will and verifies that it does meet internal and external SLAs that US federal agencies are dependent on.

Responsibilities:

  • The MTIPS Capacity and Monitoring Manager is responsible for the Verizon MTIPS Product platform usage and upkeep. The individual will work closely with Product Management, Design team, Operations, Facilities, Compliance, and external contractors for the delivery of the service.
  • The MTIPS Capacity and Monitoring Manager will be responsible for delivering on the platform monitoring solutions, providing capacity reports of MTIPS to stakeholders, and documenting risks and contingency plans for any failures within the infrastructure. You will also be working closely with the product manager and design teams to resolve any capacity or monitoring concerns while also balancing time to market and budgetary constraints.
  • Utilizenetwork analytics, network bandwidth data analysis, network architectures, equipment data sheet and real world analysis of said numbers.
  • The individual will ultimately be responsible for identifying hardware, software and tools capacity requirements as well as future circuit needs and orders. The individual will also be responsible for keeping track of platform usage among the various datacenter nodes and ensuring all asset information is tracked and up to date.
  • Leverage your understanding of capacity and inventory management, network and security protocols and concepts include IP routing, BGP, VLAN, Next Generation Firewall, Network Analytics, Internet and MPLS Circuits, and asset management.
  • Work withIPSec, IPSLA, SNMP, SSL, Firewalls, Packet Brokers, Switches and Routers, Physical Security, and Network Health reporting tools.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to pass a Public Trust Security Clearance.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related technical discipline.
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification and relevant Cisco, Splunk, Arcsight, FireEye, A10, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Gigamon, McAfee, Tripwire or other certifications.
  • Experience with reading network data and security data, interpreting results into reports
  • 7 or more years of direct relevant network engineering security design or operational experience.
  • Experience with managing inventory, asset tracking, shipping and receiving records, purchasing information, etc.
  • Experience in network management tools and technologies, such as IPSLA, SNMP
  • Experience in lab testing vendor equipment to ensure it holds up to standards as specified on vendor data sheets (stress testing)
  • Extensive experience in fault isolation, repair and resolution, and documenting root cause analysis (RCA) for reported trouble tickets
  • Experience in the creation of MOPs/SOPs and other types of documentation
  • Engineering experience across a plethora of vendors and associated technologies which could include: routing, switching, security, WAN optimization, Wi-Fi, and 4G/5G cellular
  • Knowledge of public and private cloud, virtualization, orchestration, and managed services
  • Experience maintaining lab infrastructure including: user databases, software repositories, network infrastructure, server infrastructure, and associated applications
  • The candidate must be self-motivated, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Experience leading small interorganizational teams toward a common goal
  • Experience in next-generation technologies including: Zero Trust, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Software Defined Networking (SDN), Multicloud, and/or Multi-access Edge Compute (MEC), particularly in a Managed Services (MSP) or Telecommunications/Service Provider setting
