Job Description

Due to the current health crisis related to COVID-19 and the escalating visa/travel restrictions in place, we're currently unable to extend offers to anyone who cannot work from Malaysia due to lockdown visa/travel restrictions, or other restrictive measures until further notice. Consequently, we will be prioritizing candidates who can start in this location by set date as expected. We're keeping the situation under review and would adjust our position should the restrictive measures be removed later on.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience leading a technical team in a cloud computing environment, or equivalent experience in a similar customer-facing role (e.g., within a professional services, solutions architect or systems engineering team).
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or Math, or MBA in a technical field.
  • Experience managing a team in a regional capacity across APAC.
  • Experience in the Public Sector, Education and/or Healthcare market.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the broader cloud marketplace and the differentiators in offerings.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new and emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
  • Effective presentation skills, with the ability to deliver technical presentations.

As a Customer Engineering Manager, you will work with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective, existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, and problem-solve any potential technical roadblocks. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Engineering (CE) management to determine proper staffing levels to support annualized business goals, facilitate team growth avenues, and lead interview team to fill open positions.
  • Assess CE team’s go-to-market readiness, identify gaps in CE preparedness, and build plans to ensure the team is properly trained and equipped to successfully perform in support of annualized business goals.
  • Work with Google Cloud Sales team leadership to identify, qualify, and prioritize coverage for business opportunities. Participate in periodic opportunity review meetings providing insight into how to best secure technical success.
  • Work with the sales account team, customer support, product management, customer solutions, and engineering to resolve product problems affecting customer satisfaction.
  • Travel as needed to visit customers across a defined geographic territory.
