Providence is calling a Senior Business Development & Clinical Integration Manager (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Medical Institute in Torrance, CA.

We are seeking a Senior Business Development & Clinical Integration Manager who will be locally based in a service area and responsible for 1) developing trusting relationships with primary care and specialty providers to support capitation enrollment and clinical institute growth, 2) identifying and implementing new business opportunities, and 3) building partnerships that advance the growth goals of the ministry.

The position, along with the Executive Director, will be responsible for building and fostering relationships in the community and identifying demand for service growth and expansion. This includes referring physician and clinic relationship management, insurance broker partnership development, and coordination with the Providence hospitals, ambulatory care network, and other shared services to drive growth. In addition, the role will represent the ministry in the community, and this would include developing employer relationships, identifying and attending community events, and supporting ministry communications and marketing efforts.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Initiate and facilitate new business development opportunities through proactive relationships with physicians
  • Utilize technology and database applications to identify provider growth opportunities in Ministry Service area
  • Assist in the planning process of physician programs to promote physicians within the hospital setting, to the community, and between physicians
  • Work collaboratively with physician leadership in all aspects of service line development. Ensure alignment and support of strategic priorities, maintaining strong, collaborative relationships to better understand the needs of service line programs
  • Responsible for the facilitation and presentation of completed business plans to guide and influence business leaders on business development opportunities. This may include leading and/or facilitating cross functional project groups, which could include senior leadership in the organization
  • Develop and complete sophisticated business plans by identifying, retrieving and interpreting data. Convert data into information required to make decisions on new business development opportunities of large scope and impact to the organization. Also, create and design new business development approaches
  • Develop detailed financial analysis, including income statements, cash flow analysis and balance sheets; as well as economic valuations using standard acceptable methodologies for new and/or existing programs, services, and healthcare technology to evaluate new business opportunities
  • Direct marketing strategies and materials to support cross-referral development efforts
  • Collaborate with Ministry and Region communication and marketing teams to identify opportunities or gaps in the market, support clinical and other service communication with providers, and amplify campaigns in the market
  • Represent the Service Area Business Development Leader and service area goals at local Ministry
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations for physician alignment and recruitment to ensure compliance with all regulatory and PH&S Legal Affairs guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Marking, Clinical Science, or related Healthcare Field Or equivalent educ/experience
  • 7 years healthcare leadership, including operations, business development, physician/medical group recruitment, acquisitions, integration and/or strategy. Experience with payor/IPA requirements, physician contracting regulations, and planning & program management tools
  • Demonstrated experience developing successful working relationships with physicians
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience conducting physician acquisition analyses, preparing business plans, business analytics, financial proformas and value analyses
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Outstanding ability to sell
  • Ability to use appropriate discretion
  • Well-organized and follows through with details. Self-motivation
  • Strong negotiation skills. Skills in influencing, problem solving and negotiating with diverse groups
  • Skill in attracting new customers and partners

  • Thorough understanding of an integrated health care system and strong knowledge of the market competition and how to best strategize to be successful in the healthcare field
  • Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and relevant trends, public policy, and local market dynamics
  • Current knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to physician recruitment
  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic and business planning concepts and practices
  • Proficiency in program management; including ideation, buy-in, goal setting & measurement, and implementation
  • Knowledge of the full range of network development, ranging from selecting providers, contracting, and provider-to-provider feedback
  • Knowledge of financial statements, data analysis, deal structures, contracts, and the healthcare regulatory environment
  • Ability to utilize basic medical terminology

  • Master's Degree
