Job Description
The Payer Senior Account Manager should have a growth-oriented mindset when it comes to managing their accounts. Acting as the primary contact for Payer clients, you will be tasked with building an actionable plan based on delivering continuous value to both CoverMyMeds and the client. In addition, you will need to form strong cross functional relationships with operations, engineering, and senior leadership to communicate client pain points and needs.
What You’ll Do
- Develop a deep understanding of the assigned Payer’s business objectives and translate that understanding into a unique value proposition that a partnership with CoverMyMeds can deliver
- Work collaboratively with various internal stakeholder groups such as product, development and analytics to ensure that our Payer clients realize the full value of the solutions we deliver.
- Function as the internal advocate for the assigned Payer account and Payers in general.
- Leverage relationships within an assigned set of existing Payer accounts to deliver on a value based selling approach, expanding current footprint, and gaining access to new areas within the client’s organization.
- Lead root cause analysis and issue resolution efforts on behalf of assigned Payer accounts while marshaling multiple internal stakeholders.
- Partner with product leadership to develop technology and product roadmaps and convert these into vertical integration opportunities to increase data, product and solution sales.
- Utilize Salesforce to track opportunities, client specific account plans, and track client activity for organizational visibility
- Negotiate and execute renewal and up-sell contracts with an existing book of business
- Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
- Forecast and track key account management metrics (e.g. relationship status, progress to growth forecasts, strategic priorities, etc.)
- Partner across all business units at CoverMyMeds to ensure we are consistently maximizing value for the entire network and delivering valuable insights to our Payer clients
- Manage and guide junior associates to help deliver on account strategies
- Travel, as required, to meet prospects and customer face-to-face. Approximately 30% travel.
About You
The Payer Senior Account Executive manages all aspects of managing and growing assigned Payer accounts. You should have deep expertise of the Payer landscape along with a growth-oriented mindset. Acting as the primary contact for Payer clients, you will be tasked with building an actionable plan based on delivering continuous value to both CoverMyMeds and the client. In addition, you will need to form strong cross functional relationships with operations, engineering, and senior leadership to communicate client pain points and needs.
- Strong Payer and pharmacy benefit management (PBM) expertise
- Proven track record building & managing executive level relationships at Payers
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Account Management experience up-selling & cross-selling directly to executive level decision-makers
- Ability to translate technology solutions into business level conversations that bring value and uncover opportunity for our clients.
- Strategic mindset and a strong grasp of the evolving healthcare landscape
- Experience working in a team-based selling approach where multiple teams work in collaboration to accomplish a common growth objective managing a team of sales associates responsible for generating new business in a solution sales type environment
- Strong networking and rapport building skills
- Ability to identify client challenges, and develop creative solutions in close collaboration with colleagues and clients to maximize product potential
- Comfortable with executive level discussions and relationships
- Thrive in the inherit ambiguity and risk that comes with creating new things
- A natural collaborator who seeks out new perspectives and builds trusting relationships with stakeholder
