In this role you have the opportunity to

Shape and build the future of our Intense Pulse Light category at Philips!

As Test & Verification Group Lead, you will lead the validation activities of our growing Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) category – encompassing our Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) products applying one of the newest techniques for safe and long-term hair removal.

We are looking for a thorough content driven Test & Verification leader bringing shown medical device regulations experience to the team - in order to inspire and mature it. If that resonates with you, we might have the challenge you are looking for!

You are responsible for

• Leading a team of 10+ Test & Verification specialists located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands (including coaching, recruitment, team - and competence development);
• Crafting a north-star vision of how good Testing & Verification practices leading to best in class quality and efficiency should look like;
• Maturing team competences regarding medical regulations and standards (such as FDA 820.x, IEC60601, IEC62304, ISO13485, ISO14971, AAMI TIR45);
• Influencing the Reference Architecture for the Beauty category (think of modular design, allocation to software platforms, hybrid cloud solutions, harmonization of technology stacks as well as User Experience);
• Together with your team, you will work on medical devices getting accessible to consumers – let’s enter this new era with the most innovative digital platforms;
• Being part of and teaming up with the Beauty R&D Management Team – as well as teaming up with Test & Verification Leaders of other businesses;
• Acting as a business partner towards the Beauty category when it comes to support and projects in the Test & Verification domain;
• Driving functional excellence including continuous improvement of the Test & Verification function as well as establishing and maintaining a thorough Quality management System.

Our Test and Verification department as part of it is an honest and inspirational team, daring to be different. You will be based out of Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and report into the Research and Development Leader of the category.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of successful track record in a product development setting (engineering side);
• Deep knowledge and experience in system engineering, system integration, developing testing instruments, test design and automation, verification strategy and design controls;
• Experience in the medical device industry is required – as such, we are looking for sound understanding of medical regulations and standards (e.g. FDA 820.x, IEC60601, IEC62304, ISO13485, ISO14971, AAMI TIR45);
• Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to lead multi-functional teams where management through influence is required at all levels;
• Technical understanding combined with people management skills and change management attitude.
