Data Engineers will report into HPE Ezmeral Professional Services Organization. HPE Ezmeral Data Engineers are responsible for delivering a variety of engineering services to HPE Ezmeral customers throughout EMEA & APAC. Assignments will vary based on the candidate’s skills and experience. Typical assignments may involve cluster sizing, installation, configuration, health checks, performance tuning, data migration, security and automation. HPE’s Ezmeral growing customer base includes most of the Fortune 50 companies which makes the work assignments technically challenging yet rewarding. This role provides a significant opportunity to learn and apply big data technologies and solve related complex problems. HPE Ezmeral Data Engineer will report to the Delivery Manager based out of Sydney, Australia

How you’ll make your mark:

· By mastering the MapR Converged Platform, including MapR-FS, MapR-DB Binary and JSON Tables, MapR-Streams and the Hadoop Eco-System products

· You will achieve and maintain proficiency with Ezmeral Data Fabric and Hadoop Framework sizing, installation, debugging, performance optimization, cluster migration, security and automation as well with MapR DB Binary, MapR Event Stream and Json Tables sizing, performance tuning and multi-master replication.

· You will write, deliver and present formal SOW’s (Statement of Work) and ensure the on-time delivery and quality.

· You will partner with Sales in scoping and estimating projects and positioning and selling products and Service offerings

About you:

· You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.

· You have significant experience in administering any flavour of Linux

· You have an advanced understanding of scripting skills (Bash or Python preferred)

· You have a good understanding of either Ansible, Puppet or Chef as well as of Hadoop and the Hadoop Eco-System framework

· You have some experience in Kubernetes and containers

· You are an excellent written and verbal communicator, comfortable building client, and internal relationships.

· Ability to professionally manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision and deliver on schedule.

· Willing to work remotely in line with time-zones from various regions

· Willing to travel about 70%

· Fluent in English AND German
