Summary

Posted: Apr 1, 2021 Role Number: 200210088 Apple is looking for a world-class Senior Panel Process Engineer with micro-fabrication experience to join the Yokohama Technology Center Engineering team. Senior Panel Process Engineers must have a strong technical background in a relevant technical field, for example display, semiconductor or touch panel design and fabrication. A successful candidate will work within a cross-functional team to realize next generation display and sensor technology. This position demands technical strengths, together with excellent communication and organizational skill.

Key Qualifications

• 5+ year manufacturing experience in flat panel display , semiconductor or other relevant field.
• Good knowledge of the flat panel display process development and capability to perform design of experiments (DOE), detailed performance characterizations and failure analysis.
• Ability to work and communicate with manufacturing facilities, material and equipment vendors for process bring up and qualification.
• Demonstrated success transferring new technologies and processes to high volume Production.
• Good communication skills in both English and Japanese and ability to travel internationally.

Description

Description Primary responsibility is to partner with Internal Engineering teams, Manufacturing and operations teams to bring up new process at vendor facilities. Hands on effort to establish a pilot line with new equipment, technology transfer and establish quality control so that pilot line capable of making prototype samples. Work with Equipment supplier to install new tools that can deliver advanced processes with pre-defined specifications Work with internal and external teams to define and own quality control of incoming and outgoing materials, devices and parts. Identify key manufacturing issues, propose and execute DOE’s, support Failure Analysis and mitigation solutions

Education & Experience

Education & Experience Master or Ph.D. in Material Science and/or Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent

• Knowledge of display design, electronic engineering and process
• Experience in consumer/portable products
• Experience working with off shore suppliers and manufacturers
• A working understanding of high volume manufacturing processes
• Experience in wafer level optics and optical component manufacturing
• Experience in materials characterization; SEM, EDX, AFM, XRD, DMA, DSC etc
• Good knowledge of Evaporation, Sputtering, PECVD and other thin film depositions
• Good knowledge of optical design, thin-film coating stack, optical thin film simulation and characterization
• Good knowledge of the flat panel display process development and capability to perform design of experiments(DOE) , detailed performance characterizations and failure analysis
