Job Description
To support our strategic plans and rapid growth, the People Team is partnering with leaders to build and execute the people strategy to drive the business, building programs to attract and retain our talent, and establishing processes and systems for scale and efficiency. When these efforts involve multiple teams or are sizeable programs, we need to ensure the work is well organized, collaborative and cohesive. Even though this role is on the People Operations leadership team, partnering across the People Team and with cross-functional partners will be critical to ensure the execution of key programs and projects. So, if you are someone that can manage through change and ambiguity just as well as you can breakdown complex issues and create structure, this role could be the ideal opportunity to leverage all of your strengths.
This Is What You'll Do:
- Create a strategic framework for the structure and administration of the PMO and ensure the People Team and cross-functional partners are aligned with the approach.
- Partner with the People Leadership Team to identify and prioritize the key programs and projects to be managed by the PMO.
- Lead a team of Program Managers and Project Managers that are exceptional collaborators and drivers.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for the team, as well as provide new opportunities for growth and development.
- Establish best practices and tools for program management (i.e. managing large projects made up of smaller projects) and project management itself, as well as help grow these skills across the organization.
- Build in inclusion of employee experience, change management and communications into each project plan, as appropriate.
- Ensure established programs (contingent workforce, background checks, work authorization and compliance) have a defined strategy, appropriate policies, effective processes, sufficient resources and reliable vendor relationships, where necessary.
- Ensure any large-scale programs or projects are evaluated for scope, deliverables and resources, and, if prioritized, incorporated in to the PMO roadmap.
- Monitor project SWOT analyses to mitigate risk and ensure project scope maintains alignment with defined business objectives
- Determine approach for tracking projects, communicating status updates, identifying risk mitigation and escalating when necessary.
This Is What You'll Need:
- 8-10+ years in Human Resources, program/project management, PMO and leadership roles
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource or related field preferred, MBA also preferred
- Ability to partner, communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels and across the company
- Ability to lead and build cross-functional teams
- Experience in large-scale, complex program/project management and leading transformational initiatives
- Experience in rapidly growing companies, technology and manufacturing industries preferred
- Experience with structured/formal project management methods, as well as flexible/informal approaches
- High “emotional intelligence”
- Comfort in a fast paced, changed oriented environment.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity with a heightened alertness to consistency of practice.
- Ability to be highly collaborate yet drive projects and decisions forward
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
