Saint Thomas Heart General Cardiology Opportunity

McMinnville, Tennessee

Saint Thomas Heart is the cardiac division of Saint Thomas Health and boasts one of the most experienced cardiac programs in the nation. Our program includes more than 70 cardiac specialists serving a large regional network of more than 59 practice locations. Our program is supported by a robust Advanced Heart Failure Clinic and a high-volume Structural Heart service. The cardiac surgical program is a national referral center for robotic mitral valve repair, MAZE procedure, septal myomectomy, cardiac transplantation, LVAD, and ECMO. Saint Thomas Heart is seeking a talented and ambitious general cardiologist to work alongside a rotating cardiology sub-specialists to expand our practice in McMinnville, Tennessee. The candidate will be fellowship trained in cardiology, possess a strong work ethic, be a team player, and serve as an ambassador for Saint Thomas Heart and the Cardiovascular Service Line. The candidate should have outstanding communication skills and be able to network with referring physicians. This position requires outreach at least one day per week.

Requirements

BC/BE in Cardiology

Strong work ethic and team player

Experience strongly preferred

What You Will Do

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. KY License also required if working in a Kentucky facility.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
