As a valued contributor to our team, you will advise on risk monitoring and reviews for the organization, coordinate risk mitigation activities, provide risk mitigation assistance to other groups.

The Climate team at Fannie Mae was created to address the inspiring, but daunting, goal of leading the company-wide response to climate related risks, including ESG-related analytics. We need to accelerate our impact in this space as customers’, regulators’ and our employees’ expectations continue to rise and evolve with respect to growing climate related concerns. As a Climate Impact Advisor, you will be responsible for helping formulate strategy, ideation, road mapping, feature refinement and delivery.

You will be a part of the team leading our company-wide response to all climate risk-related efforts. This includes investigating and advocating for policy changes to address the risks posed by climate change. You will also partner with internal modeling and analytics teams, as well as third parties, to dynamically assess the enterprise's current exposure and future exposure

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Climate Impact Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

• Identify and advise on risks to a group or the organization.
• Advise on risk activities across groups.
• Analyze risks and research solutions.
• Advise and instruct teams and business groups on risk mitigation strategies.
• Consult on plans or decisions to avoid risks or mitigate their impact.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Desired Experience

• Experience discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping, developing mapping applications and tools and managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file types, among other duties.
• Strong experience with using geographic information system (GIS)
• Ability to identify geographic trends and findings from their analyses to clients, requiring excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience producing maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data, including climate perils and household demographics
• Ability to analyze spatial data through the use of mapping software
• Discover patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data.
• Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions
• Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
