Position Overview
The Security Representative I primary responsibility is to aid in keeping peace and order. Incumbents will guard against theft, vandalism and other crimes against the company and employees. Incumbents will also guard against fire and loss of property and comply with all applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, policies, order and rules relating to health and welfare. The position will report to the Mgr Facilities or Mgr Distribution Center Security.
What you’ll do at Insight
- 60% - Continuous surveillance of the post assigned, paying particular attention to unusual circumstances. Enforce all security and safety policies and regulations. Prevent, detect and report breaches of security, fire hazards. Conduct personnel metal detector screening, to insure proper compliance. Conduct Receiving / Shipping audits of material & product entering and leaving the facility. Monitor Security Cameras and Card Access, and Alarm Systems. Conduct foot patrols of building interiors and exteriors. Provide for Asset security.
- 30% - Prepare daily security logs, and Incident Reports, record property movement logs, visitor logs, answers telephones for various departments after hours. Secure buildings and sets alarms as specified by Post assignments.
- 10% - Provide escorts for facility visitors as requested. Perform and comply with emergency notification procedures both internally and externally, as needed. Perform safety inspections and audits as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to join Insight
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- At least 1-2 years of security experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Military and or Law Enforcement experience preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated use of computers, electronic equipment, two-way radios and security systems is essential.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/ professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations.
- Ability to write reports and/or business correspondences.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and other teammates.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
