Position Summary

The Senior Director of Financial Reporting will proactively collaborate across the organization to influence strategic decision-making by combining the power of data and analytics with business and industry expertise. Driven by our intellectual curiosity and creativity he/she will work together to architect innovative solutions, provide accurate reporting and insightful analyses, and effectively communicate operational and financial performance to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

  • Act as a consultant to the Finance Leadership Team, particularly the Portfolio Finance, Corporate Finance and Investor Relations teams
  • Coordinate and drive the CFO’s priorities and initiatives, ensuring alignment across the various Finance teams and cross-functionally with other departments
  • Perform administrative and communication functions for CFO
  • Prioritizing team members workloads and projects to ensure they are balanced and align with overall Finance priorities
  • Prioritize and allocate inbound data and analytics requests to team members
  • Maintain team calendar to set clear expectations on regular monthly/quarterly deliverables
  • Lead, guide and mentor team members in their daily work, annual goal setting, and long-term development planning
  • Coordinate and leverage offshore team members to drive effective workload distribution and greater/more efficient throughput
  • Educate and train team members on CDK systems, data, and processes to set them up for success in their roles
  • Drive a proactive FP&A calendar and effectively coordinate with Portfolio Finance teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Own the consolidation of metrics, financials and storylines for the close, forecast and plan cycles
  • Maintain an ongoing cadence of effectively identifying and tracking of Risks & Opportunities
  • Coordinate the development and on-going preparation of quarterly earnings and associated backup materials
  • Support the CFO with presentation materials and talk tracks for the quarterly Board and monthly ELT meetings
  • Cultivate an environment that leverages business cases and leadership approval for making material investments or strategic shifts in the business
  • Drive the enhancement and maintenance of the 3-year Strategic Planning model and leverage the tool to inform annual operating plan targets and long-term external guidance
  • Support the CFO and Investor Relations team with quarter-end analytics and external communications/guidance
  • Assist the Portfolio Finance and FP&A teams with analytics, initiative support, and process improvement efforts
  • Identify areas of improvement for introducing new metrics and/or restructuring management financials to better disaggregate and understand business performance
  • Monitor KPIs and business drivers for the company, highlighting emerging trends, analyzing underlying causes of deviations and providing recommendations for improving financial outcomes
  • Prepare and present clear and concise adhoc analyses highlighting developing trends/issues for senior leadership
  • Partner with Business Development on the identification and financial evaluation of potential M&A activity
  • Mentor other Finance department teams to improve their business-specific analytics and storytelling skills
  • Design the reporting framework necessary to achieve the broader Finance Department’s goals, as well as support the Portfolio Finance teams with the tools they to be more effective in their jobs
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence Lead to align on requirements and architecture necessary to deliver reporting framework
  • Enable and promote a culture of self-service analytics

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Passionate about data analytics and strong problem-solving skills
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Advance to expert skills with programming languages SQL, Python, R, SAS, COGNOS, Tableau, and Data blending tools.
  • Able to analyze large volumes of raw data, package the data for further consumption, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Self-starter, well organized, extremely detail-oriented and a highly collaborative team member
  • Strong business analytics acumen
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • Proven ability to identify areas of opportunity in existing processes and execute appropriate improvements
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications/
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
  • Lead meeting with poise and demonstrate executive presence
  • Comfortable with daily interactions with VP level leaders and presenting in front of the Executive Leadership
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Direct people management experience, with proven ability to lead, motivate, coach and influence team members
  • Displays confidence, independent decision making, and accountability
  • Strategic and results orientated
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities
