The Customer Insights department is looking for data savvy professionals to join our team of data scientists. You will have the opportunity to build data products that will be used across various departments of our business to help us predict and understand our customers’ behaviour, enabling us to offer them the most relevant personalised experience.

The NITS team (No-Intent-To-Stay) works on our machine learning models that predict the probability of a cancellation. As a Data Scientist Insights in the NITS team, you’ll have the chance to work with one of the most established and widely used ML models at Booking.com and play an integral role in taking it to the next level! You’ll have the chance to collaborate closely with other Analysts, Developers, Product Managers and various business stakeholders and take full ownership of your work - from the initial idea generation phase to the implementation of the final product.

B.RESPONSIBLE

  • Utilize ML and other statistical techniques, to continuously generate insights related to the performance of the model and advise the team on potential improvements.
  • Generate cancellation related insights to influence the model development.
  • Communicate regularly with the model’s stakeholders and assist with answering their questions.
  • Develop insightful metrics, dashboards, reports.
  • Continuously evolve your craft by keeping up to date with the latest developments.
  • Actively contribute to the Data Science Insights craft at Booking.com through training, exploration of new technologies, interviewing, onboarding and mentoring colleagues.

B.SKILLED

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)
  • Fluency in at least one programming language, with a strong preference for Python.
  • Strong working knowledge of Spark and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting/visualization techniques (e.g., Tableau, Graphite, Power BI, etc.)
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; the ability to convey your message to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts.
  • Experience with forecasting techniques is a plus.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Solution oriented and result driven.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and analytical reasoning.
