Director Sales Operations, Export & Resellers is responsible for (i) sales operations for both export and domestic reseller channels and (ii) operational support / analysis / project management re implementation of EOL / Discrete program strategies.

Sales operations activities include analysis & preparation of all budgeting, forecasting & reporting activities, territory planning & sales compensation process, together with pipeline management, deal approval, management of samples, pilots, payment terms and implementation of GTM strategies.

In addition to above sales operation support for the Export & reseller channels, the role will also be responsible for providing operational support / analysis / project management in relation to implementation of EOL / Discrete program strategies over the next 24-36 months as we execute on our Connected / Digital First Strategy. This will include management of the current external platform vendor (Trunity) currently utilized by the Export channel and responsibility to lead, direct and manage the operational aspects of transitioning the Export business from this 3rd party platform to our ED Platform. This will involve managing all stakeholders across Sales, PM&S, GSC Operational Excellence, IT, Marketing, and various other teams across HMH.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Define and coordinator operational responsibilities associated with the Trunity content platform utilized by the HMH EXPORT business. These actions include managing system updates, revision, rights, restrictions, content ingestion, schedules, etc.
  • Identify and execute activities associated with the operational impacts of transitioning from Trunity to the HMH ED Platform: support the operational demands of the Program Pilot tests, engage with PM&S Platform team to ensure business rules and operational requirements are defined and applied, and articulate partnership impact.
  • Collaborate with Sales to define a clear path for support the discrete product portfolio (currently 85% of EXPORT business) while simultaneously building a Digital First Connected Teaching System strategy and defining the associated RevOps responsibilities such as Jira updates, tracking material codes, etc.
  • Support HMH’s Resellers and EXPORT’s channel distribution sales operations requirements: EoL activities, transition to CTS, digital fulfillment, contracts, etc.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with Sales, PM&S, GSC Operational Excellence, IT, Marketing, and various other teams across HMH, Internationals and Resellers.
  • Provide consistent tracking and communication of actions and status associated with key responsibilities to leadership.

Skills and Competencies Required

  • Experience with the International market and Reseller businesses.
  • Strong competencies in project management, business analysis, process improvement, and change management with the ability to consistently meet deadlines and ensure project plans are enable and delivered on time.
  • Ability to clearly articulate findings and inform/influence others using clear, concise, and effective communication, both written and oral.
  • Must be well versed in initiating meetings and planning agendas to attain use cases, functional requirements, recommending application and business process improvements, and presenting functional specifications and results.
  • Must be a strong team player who is able to work across the organization to move initiatives forward to achieve project goals.
  • Proven experience managing complex and competing priority projects successfully in a rapidly changing landscape.

Physical Requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing)
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls and online meetings
