The Micron Embedded Business Unit (EBU) is seeking a Sr. Director of Business Operations and Pricing, directly reporting to the CVP & GM of the Embedded Business Unit. EBU is responsible for developing and delivering memory and storage solutions for Automotive, Industrial Multi-Market (IMM) and Consumer segments. As the #1 supplier of Automotive memory solutions and a global leader in the Industrial Multi-Markets (IMM), EBU provides one of the broadest portfolios of leading edge and longevity products and solutions based upon DRAM, NAND and NOR Flash technologies including both components and system solutions such as DRAM modules, eMMC, UFS, SSD and uSD cards. Business and sales are developed both directly with customers as well as through industrial and commercial distributors globally to enable growth in some of the most exciting and fastest growing market segments and applications. Current annual revenues of approximately $3B.

In this role, the Sr. Director will lead a team of ~15-18 specialists with a diverse area of responsibilities including demand and new product introduction planning, inventory and cost management as well as pricing performance and business intelligence tool improvements. The directly managed team is distributed across various Micron locations including Folsom and San Jose, CA in the USA as well as locations in Europe and Asia. They will need to possess strong communication skills and establish strong collaborative relationships with key partners within EBU marketing as well as centralized corporate functions in Sales Operations, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Quality and Finance in order to develop strategies and action plans to achieve business results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and motivating a diverse and global team of ~15-18 professionals.
  • Drive the monthly sales demand reconciliation process with the global field and marketing teams and loading demand to enable manufacturing build plans. Manage submission long-range demand signal on a quarterly basis in collaboration with marketing and strategic planning.
  • Ensure EBU’s inventory levels meet or exceed annual goals for Days of Inventory Outstanding while ensuring scrap rates and write downs meet or exceed targets.
  • Maximize pricing results with the global Sales and regional marketing teams using data/metrics from market environment, pricing results and business objectives. Establish quarterly price targets and timely response to RFQs for EBU customers.
  • Deliver Executive Pricing reviews with CBO/CEO executive on a monthly cadence.
  • Ensure NPI demand is loaded to support development schedules and sample plans
  • Act as a primary interface to the Micron supply chain organization for EBU.
  • Drive operational systems and process improvements with supply chain that will benefit the business unit
  • Define strategies and drive development of business analytics capabilities for EBU’s marketing and operations functions
  • Handle product change notification processes and deliverables as well as continuous improvement programs
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to develop strategies and tactics to optimize backend operations for the business unit

Skills :

  • Strong leadership and communication skills. Able to work effectively and drive results in a global matrixed organizational structure. Strong results-oriented collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively develop content and deliver presentations at an executive level
  • Strong analytical skills. Detail oriented. Able to comprehend complex data sets to drive decision making
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain processes
  • Demonstrated excellence in use of Microsoft office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Consistent track record of success in a fast paced, complex environment
  • Understanding of Automotive and long-life supply chain requirements is highly desirable

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or equivalent. MBA is preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry preferably in marketing, finance or operations
  • At least 5 years of management experience
