Our team is seeking a Product Design Engineer Intern, who can design, prototype, analyze, and help us launch a new and exciting consumer product for Facebook Product Design Engineer Intern Responsibilities
- Researching and prototyping materials and processes for next generation products
- Design and implement test fixtures for upcoming products
- Interact with vendors to produce prototypes and other product components
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical engineering, or related field
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- 3D CAD skills (preferred experience with NX)
- Experience with prototyping equipment/techniques (3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, etc)
Preferred Qualifications
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
- Knowledge of plastic and metal part design (CNC, Lathe, injection molding, etc.)
- Prior experience in consumer electronics (thermal management preferred)
- Experience with components such as: batteries, displays, cameras, speakers, PCBA/FPCAs, etc.
- Experience in FEA, DFM, DFX, FA, DOE creation, and/or GD&T
- Experience with CFD (thermal simulations)
