Job Description

The Team

You will a crucial team member of the new Turkish Sourcing office of PVH, reporting to TH in Amsterdam.

The Position

As Director Sourcing you will be responsible to search and identify the best suppliers available to meet the requirements of the brand and to negotiate best terms for the production of apparel based on predetermined specifications. Ensure on time delivery of quality merchandise by effectively managing all production activities from end to end.

Primary responsibilities of the job:

Effectively identifies, sources, and negotiates all components of the product

  • Negotiates final pricing within the parameters set by merchandising
  • Books raw materials and production
  • Issues orders, commitments, contracts

Coordinates all phases of product development and production, following pre planned timelines

  • Ensure consumer and brand product needs are met by partnering with Technical Services and vendors to achieve quality standards
  • Collaborates with Global Design, Merchants, Operations, Quality Control, Overseas offices, Direct to vendor
  • Creates time action calendars by class and monitors production against them.

Establishes, monitors, and maintains a method of evaluating the capabilities, capacity, management staff, and manufacturing performance of factories and resources

  • Manage internal and external vendor relationships and report out on qualitative and quantitative performance metrics
  • Builds and maintains strong vendor partnerships
  • Participates in ensuring that all suppliers meet our overall standards for compliance
  • Uphold holistic Corporate Responsibility standards throughout the supply chain, inclusive of social responsibility, sustainability and global regulatory requirements

Financially maximizes the Gross Margin plan of the classification(s) by assuring target costs are met, quality is maintained, deliveries are on time, and claims are minimized

Conducts production meetings on a weekly basis

Recommends to Design, supplies for fabric and yarn research and development, based on affordability, supplier capability, and proximity

  • Acts as technical advisor for overall execution and for affordability at a price point

Develops in-region sourcing strategy and align and collaborate at global supply chain level

  • Collaborate with GSC Business Lead / VP Europe Sourcing to develop, maintain and communicate 3 year in-region supply chain strategy in support of global strategy and budget
  • Partner with Global Supply Chain Business Lead on global vendor strategy with ownership of regional vendor allocation to support business needs

Develops high performing team through the acquisition and growth of best in class talent committed to a shared value system of integrity and collaboration

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor Degree in Apparel desired
  • At least 10 years of Industry related experience in Sourcing
  • Knowledge in the following areas: Technical product performance, Global production planning and purchasing, Raw materials and trim, Production and manufacturing, Quota and Supplier and vendor “market knowledge”
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines.
  • Creates procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Detail oriented/innovative traits are necessary
  • Must be able to find the best solutions and developing methods to improve efficiency.
  • Must be flexible to adapt to changing trends of business and/or ad hoc projects.
  • Must be able to make decisions within own position and within framework given – evaluate issues on a daily basis, and make decisions on when to question or escalate issues, make inquiries and seek advice/help for resolutions.
