What you’ll be doing...
Our Point of Sale (POS) applications enable us to sell to customers through a huge variety of channels. You’ll be part of our POS IT team, responsible for telesales, MSO & FiOS integration and touch points, high-volume preorder/backorder portal, web services development, and backend programming. In addition, you’ll join the core team that’s developing and promoting DevOps and cloud adoption across various sales and web service applications. We’re pushing ourselves to be more nimble and efficient as we redefine the retail landscape—and you’ll play a meaningful role.
- Leading a team, planning and reviewing their work, plus removing barriers and solving problems to help them be optimally productive.
- Creating the software vision for assigned sales channels and web services.
- Developing highly-available applications and service stacks in production environment.
- Providing architectural oversight for systems and services.
- Promoting, implementing, and educating about Agile software development.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Lead large scale transformation initiatives primarily on enterprise domain services for wireless customer communication, compensation and customer insights.
- Understands the Verizon India 2.0 priorities and capable of driving end-to-end delivery & talent transformation initiatives from Vz India
- Lead team for a large scale program planning and implementation and will be handling teams from multiple locations and will be working in onshore/offshore model with a team size of typically 30 or more employees. You will have managers reporting to you.
- Responsible for the performance management and mentoring the team.
- Lead the Architecture and discussions for end-to-end improving customer experience by supporting communication north star using AEM and insights support platforms by working with the application development teams. Projects will include new feature launches, enhancements, experience redesign and tech stack migration.
- Lead teams to reengineer the platform and define, build & manage micro services oriented architecture.
- Drive solutions for key business decisions with and throughout the organization to enable alignment and collaboration as new products or enhancements roll out.
- Achieve operational excellence and superior customer experience by building a high-performing team to achieve and exceed Business/IT goals and objectives
- Continually challenge status quo by understanding the consumer preference and changes in technical landscape. Stay connected and informed on the industry practices in these domains and strategically bring in the learning from the Industry and implement it.

You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
- A degree in computer science or computer engineering.
- Master’s degree.
- Software development experience in a diverse set of areas including scalable web applications, iOS platform app development, web services, message queues, Scalable C programming.
- Experience in project management including waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in leading Software projects/development teams.
- Experience triaging/handling high pressure customer end user/requests.
- Experience with performance tuning, scalability and availability.
- Significant experience in software development cycle.
- Hands on experience in Java/J2EE application development including experience leading a technical team in such web technologies.
- Experience in a DevOps software development environment.
- Experience migrating web applications to Cloud (AWS, Oracle Cloud or Cloud Foundry etc.)
- Knowledge and experience of Docker/Container technologies.
- Experience with Sales and Supply chain systems, logistics, Customer Engagement & CRM systems.
In Addition if youhave:
- Experience in leading and building applications on cloud native architecture and tech stack. Strong experience in successfully handling big and complex tech transformations
- Experience in handling projects using Adobe Experience Manager
- Experience with project delivery and owning robust applications with Angular8+, Java, Spring Boot, JPA , AWS, Oracle PL/SQL , Cassandra
- Knowledge with GitHub, Stash, Jira, Jenkins, Ansible and DevOps Process.
- Knowledge in tools like Fortify, Sonar cube, Black duck etc.
- Experience in Application Security, and Agile development.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Experience with statistical analysis, quantitative analysis, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing.
- Knowledge in ML concepts
