Job Description – Sr Associate - Dangerous Goods The Compliance Operations (C-Ops) team ensures that Amazon transactions satisfy legal and safety requirements in accordance to the guidelines provided by the United Nations Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods and other organizations, which includes the International Air Transport Association. For all modes of transport – sea, air, rail, road, and inland waterways – dangerous substances should be assigned one of nine classes in order to make their storage and transportation safe. While doing business in various countries we aim at enabling safe and smooth flow of products across international borders, by proactively ensuring that all the products sold on Amazon are complaint. A Sr. Compliance Associate is responsible for protecting Amazon customers from products that are illegal, hazardous, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited /regulated by Law and Amazon policies.
Job Responsibilities:
Your job responsibilities as a Sr. Compliance Associate include:
- Classify Dangerous products into 9 classes as per SOP guidelines (Standard Operating Procedure)
- Follow SOP and instructions provided by managers
- Perform Root Cause Analysis of identified issues
- Provide ideas for process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality and customer experience
Skills:
- Proficiency in verbal & written communication in English
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to identify patterns in large data sets
- Decision making abilities based on given guidelines and in ambiguous contexts
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Outlook; MS Excel proficiency is an advantage
- Very good knowledge and experience in internet navigation and research – finding specific information about products in a timely manner
