Abbott’s EMEA Finance Shared Services centre commenced operations in Cherrywood, Dublin in October 2015. From this location the Finance Shared Services provides processing and expertise, in local languages, to Abbott divisions and affiliate companies across EMEA. The core services are in Record to Report, Order to Cash, Source to Pay and Master data management. The Financial Shared Services hub is part of Corporate Finance and has regional counterparts in the US and in Singapore.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Test Manager for our Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) Digital and e-Commerce solutions. Responsibilities include ensuring quality throughout the software development life cycle with a focus on: building a comprehensive testing strategy; designing, developing and executing manual and automated software test plans covering UI, Functional, Smoke, Regression, Performance and Integration Testing across various devices.

The Agile Automation Testing Manager will work with Product Owners to define Acceptance Criteria and the Definition of Done, measuring and reporting test coverage across all applicable coverage dimensions, and ensuring proper use of testing tools. Configuring, using, and managing test environments and test data.

You will also lead our quality processes from a solution validation / quality management process perspective.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage manual and automation testers ensuring consistency across: test planning; test execution; device and browser testing; defect categorization and logging.
  • Drive an automation testing first strategic direction on a day to day basis to ensure continuous improvement in test coverage, execution and maintenance efficiency.
  • Embed a business process testing mentality to ensure end to end eCommerce processes are considered in test strategies including both positive and negative testing.
  • Review testing documentation, develop testing standards, define criteria for testing, analyze test results, and present results to developers and end users.
  • Oversee quality testing and documentation efforts including process design and standards, effort estimation, resource forecasting and fulfillment, and task and risk management, including functional, performance, regression and roll-back testing.
  • Develop automated test cases, frameworks strategies, tools and scripts for Digital and e-commerce applications.
  • Execute automated and manual tests, report on execution status and troubleshoot framework test case and application problems.
  • Evaluate automation candidates, priorities and approaches currently utilized. Challenge existing processes and propose alternative solutions.
  • Breakdown manual test case into manageable and maintainable automation test units while maintaining test coverage.
  • Report on software defects.
  • Play integral and supporting role in all testing cycles such as smoke, in-sprint testing, regression and UAT / formal.
  • Learn and evaluate new approaches and tools that improve testing efficiencies on ongoing basis. Performing test planning and estimation activities to make sure underlying software changes are covered.
  • Actively participate in software change reviews to define required testing scope.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5-8 years of combined experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years direct experience in software development life cycle
  • Experience with Lean / Agile development methodologies
  • 5+ years of manual and automated test design and development experience
  • 3+ years experience with automated testing and simulator tools
  • 3+ years with hands on development in Java, J2EE Servlet/JSP, XML
  • Ability to apply the latest software design and development tools and techniques as required.
  • Utilize CI tools to automate tasks and routine procedures
  • Experience in agile delivery concepts and methodologies using JIRA
  • Strong knowledge of continuous integration platforms, application release automation tools for embedded Windows based client applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
