Job Description
UX/UI Designer (Product Design)-MON17478
Description
BOMBARDIER
At Bombardier, our employees work together to evolve mobility worldwide - one good idea at a time. If you have a good idea, we’ll provide the environment where it will thrive and grow into a great product or customer experience. Your ideas are our fuel.
General description of the job
You will be part of an emerging Digital Innovations Team that is working on one of the top priorities within the organization by introducing, implementing and sustaining Digital Products for Bombardier Aviation customers. As the UX/UI Designer, you will build innovative UX/UI solutions. Under the guidance of the Product Design Lead, the UX/UI Designer will take ownership of UX/UI design initiatives and drive them to completion. You will leverage your wealth of experience in digital product solution design and wireframes, constructing high-fidelity creative mockups, producing fully interactive prototypes, working with Product Owners and Software Developers to guide visual development. You are a user-focused, practical designer. Join us and be an integral part of a dynamic and innovative team in one of the largest Business Aviation corporations.
Tasks and responsibilities
In your role, you will:
- Build a close and collaborative relationship with your Agile Stream: your Product Owner, Product Design Lead, and Software Developers, to define and achieve product objectives, creative approaches and deliverables.
- Develop and deliver high level and detailed storyboards, concept diagrams, user interface sketches, mockups, prototypes, and detailed design specifications to effectively communicate interaction and design concepts and solutions.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Bombardier’s design principles, business objectives, customers, product portfolio, and competition - by conducting or participating in relevant user research, competitive analysis, and other design thinking activities.
- Develop and deliver visioning design strategy materials for our team stakeholders.
- Support Bombardier’s core Design Systems, and your Development Team as they deliver products that implement your designs.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate, you possess,
- Experience as a strong UX team member - a rich portfolio demonstrating samples of design deliverables (personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes) is required to apply for this role.
- Ability to conduct (or participate in) a wide range of product design skill-sets such as user research, brainstorming, concept design, detailed design, rapid prototyping, and usability testing.
- Experience with responsive, cross-browser, and web app design using agile and iterative design processes.
- Creativity & Innovation: seek new and better ways of doing things, generate original and imaginative ideas, products, or solutions
- Problem Solving: use an organized and logical approach to find solutions to complex problems. Looks beyond the obvious to understand the root cause of problems
- Collaboration & Teamwork: works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
- Open Communication: clearly conveys thoughts, both written and verbally, listening attentively and asking questions for clarification and understanding
- Self Development: is personally committed to, and actively works to continuously improve
- Decision Making: consistently chooses the best course of action (from a number of alternatives) to address business problems and/or opportunities
Preferred
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in best practices for information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
- Demonstrated history of gathering, analyzing, and learning from user data, creating personas, and journey maps.
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, InVision, Figma, Framer, or similar.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent degree.
