About the team

The SAP Sports and Entertainment Development Unit is a fast paced, energetic and exciting work environment within SAP. It offers a rare opportunity to work in a startup like environment within SAP.

We are the Sports Innovation Team, developing SAP Sports One, an innovative cloud-based solution supporting professional sports clubs, leagues and associations around the world. Our focus is soccer, but our solution also supports a number of other sports. You will work very closely with our product development team and will support us in designing, developing and testing of our tools and products.

The Role

In your role as Senior Developer you will be expected to have experience in SAP UI5 and other front-end JavaScript technologies.

Working in our team, you will be part of a dynamic, creative and open environment, based on team spirit and trust, in which you will be responsible for your topics from end-to-end.

With your knowledge and experience, you will discuss, implement and code software that improves the performance of thousands of athletes.

Role Requirements

• Understand the demands of our sports customers and translate them into innovative solutions

• Have a thorough understanding of UI technologies or mobile native Android development

• Work in a highly self-motivated and reliable manner and apply agile software development principles

Qualifications and Competencies

• University degree BS, MSc. (preferred), in Computer Science or a related subject

• Experience in coding using NodeJS, JavaScript, Java, Spring, HTML5, SAP UI5, SQL

• Experience in mobile native Android development

• Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

• Good communication skills, including the ability to speak and write fluently in English and a collaborative attitude

Work Experience

• Experience with cloud-based (sports) solutions and/or virtualization and container technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, and cluster

• Knowledge of XS Classic

• 5+ years development experience with SAP UI5 or related JavaScript front-end technologies or mobile native Android development

• Familiarity with cloud architecture and engineering principles on at least one of the following cloud platforms: GCP, AWS, SCP

• Experience with agile development methodologies will be highly beneficial
