Business Insights Analyst

Primary Purpose of the Position

As a key member of the Analytics team, the Business Insight Analyst, through the use of data and best in class reporting tools such as; Tableau, Cognos, or SAP will provide category, brand, pricing and other business insights to capture and predict profitable growth. Partnering with the Sales Organization, the BIA will generate data, provide ad hoc reporting, and work with reporting analytical tools utilizing data visualization to bring business ideas to implementation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the customization of corporate category business plans and creating the tactical elements of the customer specific category plans for Consumer and Commercial business units. This includes facilitating yearly business planning and tracking of progress on a quarterly basis as well as being responsible to ensure any updates are incorporate
  • Ensure sales force is leveraging available scorecards and reports while being responsible for the creation and maintenance of all Canada specific customer reporting cross business unit
  • Provide detailed analysis of the state of the business for the customer, channel and categories, while serving as advisor to GMs, Regional Managers and CDMs of the risks and opportunities within the business .Responsible for both full picture cross business unit (sell in , sell out and inventory - when applicable)
  • Track post-promotional analysis to assess program performance and promotional effectiveness/efficiency/opportunities/gaps and customer results.
  • Support the team strategic planning process by providing the needed information and insights.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelors Degree

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience within a business environment.
  • Experience identifying problems, trends and strategic opportunities using data analysis and then formulating, recommending and presenting appropriate actions to management.
  • Ability to be lead on problem solving and provide insights to various levels of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise using MS Office Suite with emphasis in Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Tableau Experience preferred.
  • Business analytics, leveraging available business/customer information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
