Job Summary:

The Executive Director, Communications will be responsible for leading the marketing communications strategy and creative execution for all Comcast Business products and segments. Primary responsibility is to provide holistic oversight and management across all communication disciplines – advertising (brand and acquisition), direct mail, direct marketing including digital display, social, search, email, content – ensuring development of comprehensive strategies across each. Develops plans that have multi-cultural relevance and representation. Partners with cross-functional partners including Brand Strategy, Marketing, Media and Divisions to ensure plans bring the brand to life and drive business imperatives. Leads all creative agencies to develop breakthrough creative that drive business results and positive increases on key Brand Health metrics.

Core Responsibilities

  • Leads annual communication strategy and plan development partnering with Brand Strategy team on message development and Commercial team on key acquisition and promotional windows. Strategy grounded in historical performance data and annual business plan.
  • Responsible for all creative development across headquarter and Divisions. Drive benefit driven, consumer validated creative that clearly articulates CB brand and product and differentiates CB in the market.
  • Develop and manage communication hierarchy that balances brand, acquisition and business segment ABM needs (ie: Enterprise, Mid-Market, Fed Gov’t); budget, clash management and prioritization.
  • Optimize plan execution to drive effectiveness and efficiency
  • Develop data driven direct marketing channel strategies – display, email, social, retargeting, mobile, search, etc. Drive efficiency by leveraging best practices across business segments.
  • Manage multiple agency relationships to develop clear, differentiated and breakthrough creative that positions Comcast Business as a modern solutions partner.
  • In partnership with Brand Strategy and influencer marketing develop content executions that position Comcast Business as a thought leader in the category and across verticles.
  • Lead direct mail innovation to increase response rate and role within broader marketing plan. Identity ways to optimize direct mail efforts to drive effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop strategy for when to leverage competitive advertising, use of 3 rd party claims and product awards in communications to drive CB differentiation.
  • Develop teams through active coaching and mentoring.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience leading Communications (IMC), or a similar role, with a track record of working in a fast paced environment, posses strong strategic thinking and ability to lead and motivate agencies, influence management, peers and direct reports.
  • Demonstrated success in developing breakthough communications programs – strategy, execution, and production.
  • Proven track record working with and influencing cross-functional teams, as well as establishing an internal network of relationships at all levels of the organization to drive results.
  • Experience working across creative formats – broadcast, OOH, digital marketing, DM, social etc.
  • Extensive agency management experience and media understanding.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a complex workload with multiple priorities and tight deadlines with a focus on measuring results and improving performance.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong executive presence.
  • Strong team leadership experience setting agenda and fostering culture for team members to thrive.
  • Solutions oriented leader.
  • Ability to see the big picture and manage the details without getting caught in the details.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
