Job Description

Role Value Proposition:

The Client Services Consultant will work under the direction of a National Accounts Client Services Director to deliver exceptional customer service, serve as a liaison between clients and MetLife internal departments, and provide both administrative and consultative support to National Accounts clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall accountability for the day-today administration of multiple National Accounts clients
  • Responds to client requests and provides clients with alternative solutions.
  • Acts as a liaison between the client and internal MetLife teams including finance, IT, claims, audit, contracts, and eligibility.
  • Provides exceptional customer service in responding to customer inquiries by phone or in writing
  • Coordinates and facilitates client meetings, in person or via conference call, and prepares materials, agendas and presentations.
  • Participates in internal and external client account audits and strategic planning process.
  • Works with internal partners in completion of client reports; analyzing results and identifying trends.
  • Participates in cross-functional project teams.
  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of MetLife’s and competitors’ products and trends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Experience in a customer service or a client facing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time efficiently in order to meet client deadlines.
  • Ability to balance client expectations with MetLife capabilities
  • Self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development

Preferred:

  • BS/BA Degree is strongly preferred
  • Strong mathematical skills (ability to analyze and understand financial records).
  • Strong project management skills including problem solving, attention to detail, analytical thinking and decisiveness
  • Knowledge of group benefits products, services and systems and ability to apply analytical skills to the interaction of these products, services and systems.
  • General understanding of U.S. economy and employee benefits industry.
