Job Description

The Estée Lauder Companies are recruiting a new senior team member to lead our large sales force in Sweden through a strong group of Area Sales Managers reporting to you. You will be working with a broad portfolio of global brands, such as Clinique, Estée Lauder, Origins, Tom Ford Beauty, Bobbi Brown, La Mer, Smashbox, Glamglow, and Jo Malone London. The Swedish office is based in Stockholm and you will be reporting to the Nordic Commercial Director based in the Nordic head office in Copenhagen.

You are an experienced leader with strong people skills, who can drive a large sales team towards a common goal. Your high energy level and strong analytical skills enable you to analyze performance and make quick action plans when and wherever needed. You collaborate with your Country Sales Manager colleagues in Denmark and Norway, as well as with the Nordic Education Manager and Brand Leaders. You are visible and lead by example, and you thrive on spending time with your team and occasionally visit them instore. You make sure to understand the drivers of our business and our competitors, and you utilize the KPIs of retail and coach your direct reports to do so, too.

On top of your direct Country Sales Manager job you will also represent the Estée Lauder Companies in Sweden in industry federations, in public matters, and towards our retail partners, and you thus pay special attention to embody our very high standards and ethics.

Experience from within the Beauty industry is a plus but not a requirement.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Achieve sales targets by channels, retailers, and brands.
  • Support, drive, and develop the team of District Managers and in-store staff in department stores and perfumeries.
  • Build a talent pool and secure constant succession planning.
  • Implement visual merchandising plans according to guidelines.
  • Secure execution of our trade plans in-store according to the overall retail plan.
  • Work closely with the Education team to secure that the sales team meets our high requirements of product knowledge and customer service.
  • Direct Key Account Manager responsibility for 1-2 retail partners
  • Monitor costs closely and work to maximize efficiencies.
  • Analyze store profitability and suggest actions for improvement.
  • Follow team performance as well as business and competitor movements. Build actions and execute immediately.

Qualifications

Your professional skills:

  • Proven work experience as Sales Manager or similar
  • Strong retail skills
  • Experience with managing a high-performance sales team
  • Master stakeholder management
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the focus to develop and build retail sales and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Available to travel as needed (mainly inside Sweden and to Copenhagen occasionally)
  • Understand and speak “Scandinavian” and English at a high level.
