Who You'll Work With

You’ll work in our Organization practice in one of our North American office part of our global Research and Knowledge team.

As part of our global knowledge network, you’ll join more than 1,800 knowledge professionals who work alongside our consultants and clients to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge. You will work with our global Research & Insights and Organization Science and client development teams to help develop cutting-edge assets and knowledge on organizational topics and manage existing expertise and assets for key practice areas including Organizational Culture & Change, Talent Management, Inclusion & Diversity, Organizational Design, Decision Making, Leadership Development, etc.

What You'll Do

You'll work alongside practice leaders and other knowledge and consulting experts on high-priority organizational knowledge development projects designed to shape and drive management strategy. By utilizing your knowledge base of the research methodology and the organizational field, you will help project teams solve research problems and develop new tools to help counsel clients on a variety of organizational challenges.You will serve as a core team member in multiple asset creation (e.g., products/services) and innovation projects by providing foundational research, cutting edge techniques and approaches, model and framework building, and measurement/evaluation capabilities. You will contribute to original research projects using a variety of data sources (e.g., existing databases, external data, case studies) to drive thought leadership in new or critical areas for the firm, validate and support existing service lines and solutions, and drive client development. Some of your day-to-day tasks may include helping structure a client question, determining the sources of insight, conducting literature reviews, analyzing data, and communicating findings. You will perform a variety of analyses such as trend identification, psychometrics, cluster analysis and model estimation. You will also be given the opportunity to use advanced analytics tools to prepare and analyze large datasets to distill insights.This is a part-time opportunity that will not extend beyond one year. However, the Organization Practice Fellowship Program offers an excellent springboard for successful candidates to potentially progress into full-time opportunities within the firm.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an advanced degree program (PhD, DPhil) in organizational behavior, organizational psychology, management, or a related field; programs with an emphasis in academic theory, research methodology, measurement and advanced statistics a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in applied organizational research, consulting, or analytics experience preferred
  • Excellent research skills including the ability to orchestrate complex projects from beginning to end - e.g., literature review and synthesis, research and measurement design, analysis and interpretation of findings
  • Solid understanding of human resources (HR), talent, organizational design, organizational culture, change management, and general business concepts and terminology with emerging expertise in several key organizational domains - e.g, talent assessment
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, quantitative, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytics skills and knowledge of advanced statistical tools (R, SPSS, and Python is a plus)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to balance multiple competing and shifting priorities as well as different project and service roles
  • Stress tolerance and ability to stay calm under time pressure
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
