As the Strategic Program Manager in the Storage Business Unit at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of a team with multifaceted strengths responsible for delivering operational excellence through our Product Lifecycle process which will grow our Data Center and Client SSD market share.

You will be responsible for establishing and tracking programs from the planning phase through production and leading core team activities to achieve program landmarks. You will be leading a core team through resolution of conflicts and overcoming obstacles to keep the programs on track and completing key milestones. You will plan and keep an up to date calendar and schedule of key milestones and monitor several programs through the Micron Product Lifecycle process. The Strategic Product Planner will work across several program teams to communicate our schedules and products including the engineering technical program managers. A strong understanding or experience with NAND or memory product development processes will be very useful.

The Strategic Program Manager will also contribute to the development and implementation of processes for improving future programs in addition to maintaining a historical record of achievement decisions and progress to the program milestones.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Handling program plans and driving a core team to deliver on program achievements
• Leading multi-functional product development teams through planning, development, qualification, and production ramp of new NAND components and SSD products
• Communicate program status to partners and internal and customers
• Anticipating issues and implement preemptive action plans and manage program change control and executive approval of plan changes
• Setting and driving program schedules from plan phase through production and EOL
• Evaluating trade-offs and executing program decisions with team and partners
• Supervising progress against plan and work to resolve variance
• Identifying and handle risks, leading change requests
• Setting priorities for resources
• Challenging and calling out program boundaries when they no longer make sense
• Crafting, ratifying or proposing decisions regarding the program
• Maintaining the program plan
• Assisting Business Line Manager with program reviews for management
• Coordinating post-mortem reviews for continuous improvements

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of project management, planning, and organization skills, including ability to balance multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in a matrixed organization with several internal groups requiring ongoing updates
• Experience in tracking and closing issues while working across multiple locations
• Strong communication and team work skills
• Proven eye for business and critical thinking skills
• Nice to have experience in Team-Center and Sharepoint or proven understanding in Data Bases.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Industrial Engineering, Masters of Business is nice to have
• Strong Project Management experience with 5+ years of relevant SW or HW in high tech industry
