The Public Service Sector consulting practice is a trusted advisor to federal, state and local governments, partnering to meet challenges and responding quickly to citizen demands, business needs, new economic conditions, and changing legislative priorities and policies.
In this exciting role, you will lead the Operations Engineering team (30%)
- Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert.
- Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures to guide engineering staff.
- Monitor and determine staffing and training needs.
- Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Prepare and deliver engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally.
- Provide technical expertise and direction (30%)
- Act as an SME to answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team members and other organizations.
- Direct the maintenance and evolution of COTS, hardware, operations tools, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automation.
- Direct the maintenance and evolution of the Data Analytics Environment toolset.
- Maintain the quality of Operations Engineering work (20%)
- Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
- Drive the implementation of automated testing and verification for IaC-generated environments.
- Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
- Drive initiatives to enhance and evolve infrastructure and operations (20%)
- Spearhead research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes.
- Evolve and enhance operations automation for IaC, analytics, and platform modernization.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise - Operations Engineer Architecture
- 6+ years of engineering experience, ideally in a management role.
- 6+ years leading IT security efforts to ensure compliance with NIST guidelines, FIPS 140 cryptographic standards, DHS 4300.A policies, and other security standards required for DHS systems remediation.
- Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team.
- IBM systems experience to include P series hardware, Secure Flight Legacy tools.
