Description

Must be concurrently enrolled and returning to an academic program in the fall in an accredited degree-seeking program.

Primary Function of Position:

We are looking for a Voice & Video over IP (VVOIP) Client Software Engineer Intern in sunny and beautiful Santa Barbara, CA who is motivated and passionate to make an impact in creating a robust client software for Intuitive’s VVoIP solution, connecting robotic surgical systems via live streaming audio & video with the world. The Voice & Video over IP Client Software Engineer Intern will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, and debugging new and existing VVOIP client software applications. The ideal candidate will participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and document VVOIP client software for mobile and web applications over web real-time communications (WebRTC).
• Support, troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance existing VVOIP client software.
• Work closely with Product Management to understand business requirements.
• Work closely with Software Management to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.

Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

• Experience with one or more of the following development frameworks: VueJS / Angular / React JavaScript, MVC, JSON
• Experience with one or more of the following web development technologies: Web API, Web Services, SOAP, REST
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for creating robust and reliable products

Learning Outcomes:

• Work in a cross-functional agile development team
• Work on a software project, that would go live to customers

Commitment: Must be available to work full-time hours, M-F for 10-12 weeks beginning Summer of 2021.
