Who You'll Work With

You’ll work in our Waltham location, with the teams in our global technology hubs that are located across the US, Prague and Gurgaon as a part of McKinsey’s global Technology & Digital (T&D) leadership team.At McKinsey we are constantly evolving with the rapid pace of technology and helping our clients in winning with game-changing strategies, solutions and products. Data, analytics and insights are core to our differentiated value proposition, and we are taking a cloud-first approach to transform our data platforms and analytical applications across the firm. We are seeking a seasoned technology leader to lead our enterprise data & analytics teams, and help accelerate the delivery of target state cloud-based platforms and the migration of legacy assets. We are looking for deep technical and product expertise with proven leadership track-record in building large scale, enterprise-grade data & analytics systems. We want a passionate leader who loves to build great data-driven products, analytics, AI/ML capabilities and next-gen insights in a high-energy agile environment.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for leading the T&D Enterprise Data & Analytics engineering tribes which include the enterprise data & integration capabilities, global data hub and data lake platforms, analytics and BI tools, interfaces with various source systems and data providers, as well as data engineering and performance reporting for the T&D business function. You will play an influential role in shaping and building the enterprise-grade technology stacks for data and analytics, and driving the adoption in collaboration with tribes and chapters across T&D, the broader firm and external strategic partners. You will be responsible for leading cloud-first transformation and migration of enterprise data & analytics applications. Jointly with our client-serving data & analytics teams, you will lead the One Firm Technology strategy and innovation in analytics, data and BI. You will drive increased adoption of enterprise data and analytics tools and co-innovate with strategic partners to help drive game-changing solutions and services.As part of the global Technology & Digital leadership team, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across product, architecture, design, and operations teams to drive the overall transformation, while providing technical leadership and mentoring to the broader engineering teams. You will be part of the campus leadership of Waltham, one of the primary T&D hubs. You will also partner with the firm’s Information Security, Risk and Chief Data Officer teams to devise and build secure-by-design data and analytics platforms, ensuring data quality and compliance with privacy, regulatory, and data residency requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline; industry recognized certifications, patents, open source contributions are preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in leading technology and product development – transformational leader with proven engineering track record in modern tech stacks and agile frameworks
  • Expertise in leading data-driven products, digital transformation and automation, customer and colleague experience, and enterprise technology transformation initiatives
  • Experience in large-scale big data, analytics and BI tools, AI/ML, and data management systems (NoSQL, OLTP, OLAP) in complex usage scenarios and migration paths
  • Seasoned catalytic people leader with outstanding ability to inspire and lead high-performing agile squads, and foster diverse and inclusive global teams
  • Expertise in leading the development of enterprise-grade systems that are highly scalable, performant, reliable, and secure in global environments
  • Experience in public cloud products, cloud-native architectures, API management, Microservices, event driven architectures and integrations with SaaS/ERP systems
  • Outstanding analytical thinker with excellent abstract problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative and able to build strong relations that enable robust debate, and survive periodic disagreements regarding priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audience across all seniority levels
