Your Role and Responsibilities Location: Austin, NY, Raleigh
Digital Marketing position is responsible for leading and implementing the exciting world of Cloud native, Platform as a Service (PaaS) digital marketing efforts to help achieve market growth and revenue objectives. You are a developer/developer advocate with a passion for messaging or a marketer with passion for new and emerging technologies.
You will support and drive the marketing plan, product messaging and positioning, definition of the target persona and the narrative to support fast paced Organic, digital demand generation and customer marketing actions, including with strategic partners. You will take a hands-on, data-based and an Agile approach to collaborate and achieve results.
As a Product Marketing Manager, you must be self-motivated, must have demonstrated excellent leadership, collaboration and business acumen, and must have a good understand of marketing as well as the B2B industry overall.
Responsibilities Include:
- Represent the voice of the customer, advocating a point of view that serves their needs and differentiates our offerings.
- Quantify and segment the market opportunity based on patterns of unmet needs, understanding how we compare versus the competition
- Understand the personas (buyer, influencer, user) of a buying cohort.
- Articulate IBM's point of view, marrying the unmet needs of the target segment with a differentiated solution, and describe how solution attributes deliver desired outcomes.
- Activate the marketing team members to bring the point of view to life with meaningful campaigns.
- Collaborate closely with “Organic” team, Digital Campaign team, Customer marketing team, other Product Marketing Managers, Product Managers (aka Offering Managers)
- Source the prioritized stories and use cases and communicate them effectively to the business, identifying the best routes-to-market to serve those needs.
- Review offering NPS score and win-loss analysis regularly to improve offering experience.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise - 3+ years of experience in the Technology industry, across one or more of these key areas: Marketing, Customer facing roles like Sales, pre-Sales, deployment, architecting
- Demonstrated ability to understand the complex topic of cloud and simplify messaging
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise - Knowledge of Cloud native and Platform as a Service technologies; Hands on development experience preferred
- Self-starter, who works with various stakeholders and build solution, without much supervision
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and with a bias for action
- Assimilate available data, including Market data and anecdotal information to drive solutions
- Work well within matrixed organization and Collaborates with multiple stakeholders who may/may not have the same common objectives, and get work done
