As a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Equipment Engineering Group at Micron Systems Integration, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical fixtures, mechanisms and finished equipment for semiconductor processing and testing. Performing analytical studies to determine optimal design considerations while directing support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, prototype fabrication and field implementation/distribution. This position will include both new development activities as well as sustaining and concurrent engineering functions.

Position Description:

As a SIG Software Engineering Intern at Micron Technology, Inc. you will work as part of the Applications Software Engineering team. Your efforts will be focused on designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications - primarily GUI. You will be required to interface with customers and peers in a professional manner, collaboratively drive toward improvements, and provide training when necessary.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Help the team create software requirements for projects
  • Participate in Usability Studies
  • Complete tasks for updates to web applications as needed for others within SIG and end user customers
  • Perform complete testing of each release prior to deployment
  • Working directly with customers and software/electrical/control engineering peers to understand and fix issues
  • Identify and address root cause problems
  • Promptly respond to customer inquiries or issues
  • Provide end user training when necessary
  • Design and code applications using object oriented principles

Languages and Tools:

  • Work may be done in either the Windows or Linux environments
  • The IDE used during developing will be NetBeans (12 or greater)
  • The web application server is Payara
  • Applications will be written in Java (8 or greater), using these additional languages and frameworks:
    • PrimeFaces framework (jsf)
    • CSS
    • HTML
    • JavaScript/jQuery
  • Database interaction may include
    • PostgreSQL
    • MongoDB
    • MySQL

Education:

Working towards a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering related fields
