Position Summary: QuickMAR, a division of PointClickCare, is looking for an experienced software engineering manager to lead a team of 12-15 Software and Quality Assurance Engineers through the entire product development lifecycle. The QuickMAR medication management platform is comprehensive and includes components built on web, mobile and pc-based technologies. The right candidate should be comfortable working across these environments and developing strategies to optimize team structure and skillsets as well drive continual improvement in our development, build, and release processes to ensure we are delivering a high-quality product.
Key Responsibilities: · Lead a team of Software and Quality Assurance engineers, including hiring, developing, and motivating team members as well as managing productivity and performance. · Oversee the product development budget, including; resource plans, compensation, performance bonuses, and contractor time and expense. · Evolve the organizational structure and promote cross-training to optimize use of resources. · Establish development processes/procedures and ensure they are consistently applied. · Collaborate closely with Product Management in their establishment of the long-term roadmap. · Participate in regular scrum meetings, including - Backlog Review, Sprint Planning, etc. · Oversee build strategy and manage deployments across server environments. · Implement a test automation strategy to reduce dependency on manual testing and streamline smoke tests and regression testing. · Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors and/or consulting companies · Contribute to design and/or functional specifications (requirements, workflow, design, etc) · Collaborate with cross-domain development managers and technical leads on strategic. initiatives that extend into other product areas or markets. · Familiarize yourself with our customers and the operation of our products.
Required Skills and Experience: • Demonstrated experience with software development life cycle (e.g., gathering requirements, analysis and design, development, release and version control, deployment management, etc). • Most recent experience as a Development Manager or Team Lead over a multi-disciplinary team. • Proficient with applying Agile development methodologies. • Previous experience utilizing the following technologies/toolsets/applications: o Microsoft .net framework, C#, MVC o Microsoft SQL Server o Web services and API development o Cloud management tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Azure o iOS or Android experience desired but not required o Team City or similar build and deployment tools • Knowledge of test automation tools and implementation strategies • Strong leadership skills – ability to lead by example and motivate others. • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional (non-technical) teams. • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Self-starter and ability to operate with little day-to-day supervision.
