Cloud-Native 5G @ PDU Cloud RAN

The organization within Business Unit Networks seeks to work closely with our customers, passionate about the delivery of virtualized RAN solutions.

We do accelerate product development with new fresh thinking. We challenge established flow with new methodologies and are active in the open-source communities.

Overview:

Full-stack virtualization of the 5G NR CU and DU

CRAN & DRAN configurations

COTS HW including L1 accelerators where needed

Cloud-Native infrastructure based on ADP framework for SW based on micro-services and containers

Open interfaces (e.g F1, X2/Xn, A1, 01, LLS...)

Architecture for automation, AI and machine learning

Band support: Sub-6 & Mid-Band AAS to start with, High-Band in the future

Radio support: Potentially all Ericsson NR capable radios with the use of eCPRI or CPRI converter

Our Exciting Opportunity:

As a systems developer on our 5G Virtualized Digital Unit team, you will be a key contributor to the Advanced Antenna System (AAS) 5G functions that integrate next generation Cloud Native technology.

You will:

Be actively engaged in the implementation of 5G Multi-cell (scheduler) and Physical Layer simulation functions part of our Cloud Native RAN

Contribute designs and software to a highly available, high performance, Kubernetes based product

Strive for delivery of product and test code that improves the advantages of a DevOps infrastructure

Foster a systematization and implementation that enable rapid feature parity in a Stand Alone and Hybrid 5G network environment

To be successful in this role you must have:

Bachelor’s or master’s level degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

Good knowledge of communication theory, digital signal processing and design of stateful vs stateless functions

Good understanding of the Linux ecosystem and have completed projects working with the Linux kernel

Knowledge of Cloud-Native core principles, DevOps and Ecosystem a plus - microservices, K8S, Docker, Helm, CI/CD (DevOps)

Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills and possess a can-do attitude

Familiar with simulation languages and platforms like Matlab or Julia and its usage for wireless network modeling as well as C/C++ programming
