DescriptionJoining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority.
Primary Function of Position: The Sales Strategy Analyst works closely with our US capital commercial leadership to analyze complex business problems and provide strategic, data-driven guidance to decision makers. This position is heavily involved in the development of analytical frameworks and plans used by our sales teams in interactions with customers. Additionally, the analyst will provide data-driven recommendations to support internal strategic planning, commercial strategy, territory design, and sales quota modeling. This is a highly analytical role requiring the manipulation of large data sets, a keen understanding of sales concepts, and the ability to communicate and develop meaningful relationships with multiple executive business partners.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide commercial insights to executive leadership.
- Serve as the primary business intelligence analyst/consultant for a team of Sales Executives
- Identify and interprets trends and patterns in da Vinci procedure, revenue, and sales datasets to locate opportunities for accelerating da Vinci adoption.
- Develop, articulate, and defend analytical positions.
- Develop tools and dashboards that highlight opportunity and enable our sales team to more effectively sell da Vinci technology.
- Participate with cross functional-teams to investigate and resolve operational issues.
- Provide early insights regarding market trends and the resultant strategic/business model impact.
- Utilize SQL and Tableau to query SFDC and Finance databases.
- Partner with Executive commercial leadership to develop board-level presentation materials.
- Use analytical skills to verify or dispel anecdotal insights.

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Highly-organized with an ability to support and prioritize multiple projects concurrently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and oral communication with a dedicated customer orientation
- Proficiency with dashboard/report creation and data visualization tools (Tableau preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (SQL or other database preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience
