Job Description

At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To do this, we start with our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization.

Lyft is looking for an experienced operator to serve as the District Manager, Operations, to manage one of several driver service teams in the Texas-Oklahoma Territory. We’re searching for an exceptional servant leader with a passion to provide the world’s best transportation, process excellence, continuous improvement, best in class driver service, and a desire to make a big impact.

Reporting to the Regional Director, you will manage a team of leaders that own Lyft’s driver service, fleet, vehicle service, and rental experience in Austin and beyond. You’ll collaborate with other operations team members who support Lyft drivers in the broader territory. If you have experience managing large programs and teams, growing businesses, developing employees, working in dynamic environments, and solving tough problems, we’d like to talk with you.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a world-class experience for our drivers and customers across all business lines, and be obsessed with creating positive interactions with our drivers, customers, and our community
  • Lead, develop, and engage your teams of managers and associates, including Driver Support, Fleet, Vehicle Service, and potentially more across the region
  • Develop, continuously improve, and align our long-term strategy and create playbooks to hit OKRs and drive financial performance
  • Embody the philosophy of servant leadership; working the front lines and serving drivers with your staff
  • Establish yourself as a valuable cross-functional thought partner to help drive business growth and opportunities across the company
  • Teach and coach our teams to develop, implement, and constantly refine operational business processes, relentlessly eliminating waste and creating value
  • Represent Lyft's brand, mission, and culture both inside and outside of the organization

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience leading large teams in process-driven, operational environments (Toyota Production / Lean Management System experience a plus)
  • You love people: motivation, engagement, and development come naturally. You identify what makes your team members tick and gain energy from coaching them to achieve a common goal.
  • You are a leader in customer service: You care deeply about the customer experience and role model and coach others to provide the best experience possible to those visiting your location
  • Strong problem solver: You surface problems, identify root cause, fix them and keep them from coming back
  • Excellent time management: You effectively prioritize multiple competing functions and tasks
  • Always a team player: You're positive, optimistic, and willing to help out wherever needed
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bonus points if you’re an avid Lyft user and have a passion for the rideshare industry

Benefits:

  • Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Mental health benefits
  • In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have unlimited paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
  • 401(k) plan to help save for your future
  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Biological, adoptive, and foster parents are all eligible
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Lyft Pink - Lyft team members get an exclusive opportunity to test new benefits of our Ridership Program
