Your Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for the coordination and cost-effective accomplishment of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all Company aircraft and its CFAR 145 Certified Repair Center. Ensures that all maintenance performed meets the highest level of quality and safety requirements. Fosters a safety focused environment that includes diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:
  • Manage aviation assets (aircraft) to ensure market value and mission effectiveness is maintained.
  • Plan and control aircraft maintenance ensuring aircraft are airworthy and safe.
  • Coordinate and supervise company maintenance technicians and third-party maintenance providers to perform work on company aircraft.
  • Remove unsafe aircraft or aircraft that do not comply with FAA regulatory requirements from service.
  • Ensure maintenance technicians have access to company policies and current technical and regulatory publications necessary to perform maintenance duties.
  • Liaison with the FAA and other national aviation authorities on maintenance topics.
  • Ensure aircraft maintenance records required by FAA regulations, manufacturers, and company policy are established and maintained.
  • Ensure that an appropriate number of properly trained and qualified personnel are available to perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Administration of maintenance training. Initiates and coordinates additional training as required to ensure the safe, reliable and economic management of the Maintenance Training Program.
  • Ensure that adequate facilities, tools and equipment are available to conduct all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and that the facilities tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored. Has the authority to change or modify the facilities and tooling processes to ensure the operational safety needs of the Flight Operations program are met.
  • Ensure Maintenance personnel are only assigned duties for which they are specifically qualified. Take appropriate action to upgrade personnel technical skills and qualifications where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with airworthiness directives and service bulletins that affect company aircraft.
  • Establish, evaluate, and promote maintenance safety policies and procedures for ground operations.
  • Manage the training program and training records for maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure calibration of test equipment.
  • Ensure products, parts, supplies, and consumables meet the specifications and requirements set forth by the manufacturer and that necessary amounts of these items are maintained.
  • Monitor expiration dates of first aid kits, automatic external defibrillators, and survival / emergency equipment.
  • Review and update emergency and survival equipment list on an annual basis and/or as equipment and contents change.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of maintenance safety policies and procedures for ground operations.
  • Ensures technicians participate in the SMS to identify incidents, hazards, and/or defects in the maintenance control system.
  • Addresses maintenance SMS deficiencies with the safety program manager and the safety officers.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Flight Operations.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Holds a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  • 1+ year of experience in a position responsible for returning aircraft to service.
  • 5+ years of experience in a managerial capacity within the past 6 years in one or a combination of the paragraphs below:
    • Maintaining large aircraft with 10 or more passenger seats, including at the time of appointment as Manager of Maintenance, experience in maintaining the same category and classes of aircraft as Company’s fleet
    • Repairing aircraft in a certificated airframe repair station that is rated to maintain aircraft in the same category and class of aircraft as the company’s fleet.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the planning, implementation and direction of the maintenance programs and control systems for aircraft operated by the company, and of the national regulations and recognized standards relating to aircraft maintenance.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Gulfstream 650, Falcon 2000 and Sikorsky S-76 experience preferred.
