Storage Performance Engineer

Job Description

Storage Performance Engineer, IBM Corporation, Tucson, Arizona: Evaluate prototypes of next generation storage products. Perform assessment of architecture, hardware and software components. Provide software algorithm and tuning recommendations to improve performance. Analyze customer provided debug data to find anomalies and provide recommendations to mitigate the problem. Provide independent and unbiased performance assessments of external storage vendors for potential partnerships and collaborations. Work with performance and development engineers to create and execute test plans for the performance evaluation of storage hardware and software products and enhancements. Design and implement workloads reflecting actual client usage patterns, perform measurements. Analyze data and improve the performance of internal and external storage components. Work with development engineers to identify problem areas and deliver workable solutions. Create proof of concept solutions for development and identify product limitations. Utilize clustered filesystems, data reliability and performance, network attached storage, high performance computing, Python, JavaScript, Nodejs, Mongo dB and architectural knowledge of IBM storage hardware and software products. Required: Master’s Degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as an Analyst or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing clustered filesystems, data reliability and performance, network attached storage, high performance computing, Python, JavaScript, Nodejs, and Mongo dB and architectural knowledge of storage hardware and software products.
