About this role

Team Overview:

BlackRock Korea investment team currently manages onshore funds that feed into offshore funds within BlackRock Global Funds (BGF), and BlackRock Strategic Funds (BSF) umbrella, Insurance Variable Universal Life Insurance (VUL) mandate, and institutional private fund. The team is responsible for minimizing performance tracking error between the onshore and offshore funds by performing daily cash, hedge ratio, and risk exposure management. Korea investment team also provides investment ideas and market commentaries to the clients.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all the products offered by the Korea investment team, including feeder funds, SMAs and private funds (monitor daily flows and position level details, cash flow forecast, distributions, capital calls, etc.)
• Closely follow global markets and be up to date on events and market movements.
• Conduct macro and product research to generate commentaries and pitchbooks.
• Execute FX spot, forwards, futures, and ETF trades when needed.
• Interact with various internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage technology platforms.
• Collaborate with Client Services to deliver timely client reporting requirements (fund metrics across underlying strategies or sleeves, inputs for quarterly commentaries, etc.)
• Monitor operational risks and ensure adherence to investment guideline/regulatory compliance (check side letters and/or IMAs to confirm potential breach of any and all agreed terms or investment guidelines).
• Work across operations and legal teams to ensure a smooth operational experience for both internal and external clients

Requirements:

• University or post graduate degree, preferably with finance or economics discipline.
• More than 4 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
• Experience in portfolio management with strong familiarity towards feeder fund structures and dynamics.
• Knowledge or experience in the financial market with focus on FX market.
• Strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency around deadlines and an ability to multitask
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• High proficiency in Excel, with ability to manipulate data in a spreadsheet - knowledge of VBA is a plus
• Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint, with ability to create appealing slides for clients/investors
• Analytical ability to synthesize information and summarize issues to efficiently combine outputs from different sources of technology/systems
• Fluency in Korean and English.
