We are currently looking to recruit Head of Field & Maintenance Engineering based in Hennigsdorf, Germany.
Main mission of this position is to be accountable for the field support and reliability growth.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that committed Field & Maintenance Engineering deliverables to the Project are achieved within time, quality and budget and in line with legislation and safety.
• Continuous optimise Vehicle Design processes/tools by considering business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations and new market conditions.
• Establish and maintain interfaces with other Engineering departments and with relevant functions (Project Management, Procurement, Operations, Sales, Bids).
• Manage and develop relevant skills within your team (workforce planning, performance management, career development, succession planning, training and recruitment).
• Support reliability growth of delivered vehicles, by in depth investigation, root cause analysis and solution finding of any performance issues.
• Accountable for the reliability validation of each project: Clarify the responsibility of any relevant Services failure reports according to the contractual objectives (with support of PM, ENG and PI).
• Support Product Introduction (PI) to analyse technical issues on the train and develop an investigation plan for root cause analysis.
• Develop a reliability growth plan with the support of RAM Engineering and their reconciliation of actual data versus anticipated ones.
• Support Design for Reliability and Maintainability to decrease new built cost, ensure a long-term improvement and support the After Sales business.
• Liaise with system responsible (system engineering and suppliers) to develop technical solutions.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• At least five years’ experience in an international environment with leadership experiences.
• Ideally working experience in the railway or similar industry (complex systems e.g. power&chemical plants, automotive).
• Demonstrated experience in Field Support & Reliability Growth.
• Experience in the Service Division or Product Introduction.
• Fluent in English (other languages are a plus).
