As a Software Design Engineer with the Concur Expense Engineering team, you will help deliver a high availability, 24/7 Concur Expense service. Concur’s expense management platform is experiencing terrific growth. Our team is responsible for managing user expenses. The service needs to handle large volumes of traffic and is key to our mission of making business traveler’s life simpler.

As part of the team that manages the user’s expenses, you will build new capabilities, address critical client facing issues and help us get to our future vision of service oriented architecture.

The Role

• Learn the current system architecture/technology and functionality within first 6 months
• Contribute to product enhancements (APIs, feature set)
• Build AWS infrastructure to help scale and monitor our applications. Help identify bottlenecks in performance.
• Build automation to exercise product functionality
• Dive into and solve critical customer issues when needed

Requirements

• Experience with object oriented programming languages: proficiency in Java to build scalable services.
• Experience with frameworks: Familiarity with various parts of the Spring framework and rest protocol
• Experience with database technologies: use both MSSQL and NoSQL databases. We require
• AWS experience with tools like SQS, RDS and Redis are nice to have. Additional experience with CFN and IAM are also helpful.
• Desire to learn new technologies we are constantly evolving adding technologies like kubernetes, Envoy, Istio and Vault
• Team player: highly collaborative, an effective communicator able to listen to/work with others. Peer reviews are important to us.
• As an Individual: Have a result driven personality, high enthusiasm, energy, confidence and most importantly have a sense of humor.
