Global Benefits you will be part of the Benefits Center of Excellence (COE) team within Nielsen Media’s Global Compensation and Benefits team. The Manager, Global Benefits will focus on US benefits and retirement programs, and be responsible for benefits and DC plan strategy, design, and financial governance. This position will primarily be remote within the NY tri-state (NY, NJ, CT), but it may be required to come into the office on an as-needed basis for meetings.

The Global Benefits Manager is to manage all aspects of Health/Welfare and Retirement plan administration. Develops, implements administers and maintains benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs comply with legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages external service providers (e.g. insurance carriers, TPAs, trustees, auditors, etc.) to ensure services are supplied according to agreement.
  • Manages day-to-day activities of all benefit and retirement plan offerings, including medical, dental, 401(k)/DB Pension, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, etc.
  • Manages all vendor relations as a primary contact
  • Leads the annual open enrollment process including coordinating open enrollment fairs, developing communications and ensuring renewal changes are reflected in open enrollment materials.
  • Manages internal benefit staff and services.
    • Develops benefit policies and procedures in support of government regulations, organizational objectives, and employee requirements
    • Directs corporate staff in the supervision and administration of employee benefit plans
    • Ensures accurate and timely fulfillment of all legal compliance activities, including IRS/DOL plan qualification and annual filings, non-discrimination testing, annual audits, coordination activities among staff, plan actuaries/trustees, and internal/external auditors
  • Implements annual benefit changes
  • Develops and implements general and specialized employee benefit communication programs
    • Coordinates development, legal review, and distribution of legally mandated materials including Summary Plan Descriptions, Material Plan Modifications, Plan Amendments and Summary Annual Reports,
    • Coordinates and implements value-added communication materials including Benefit Guides, etc.
  • Manages activities of the Administrative Appeals Committee
    • Provides situational analysis and briefing regarding administrative problems/deficiencies/inconsistencies
    • Recommends administrative exceptions, policy modifications, and plan amendments to rectify plan administration issues and provide plan interpretation as required
  • Provides vendor payment oversight and funding. Reconciles benefit plan activities in conjunction with the Finance Department.
  • Answers questions regarding details of benefits from employees, HR, vendors

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant benefits and DC plan management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Strong knowledge of benefit plan administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
