Hours: Full Time; Monday - Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm
Location: The Polyclinic Madison Center (then Bellevue in 2021)
Position Objective:
As a member of Polyclinic’s health care team, provide high quality, cost effective healthcare to patients in a personalized managed care setting collaborating with clinic physicians when indicated. His or her communication, conduct and performance should support the Polyclinic’s efforts in becoming High Performance Organization. Responsibilities will focus on preventive foot care for all patients including at risk patients.
Scope of Practice:
- Examine patients and establish medical diagnoses by client history, physical examination and other assessment criteria.
- Admit patients to health care facilities
- Order, collect, perform, and interpret laboratory tests
- Initiate requests for radiographic and other testing measures
- Identify, develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care and treatment for patients to promote, maintain and restore health.
- Prescribe medications when granted authority
- Refer patients to other health care practitioners or facilities

- Facilitate follow up care for high risk patients and wound care
- Manages chronic and acute illness and disease

- Provides coverage for hospitalized patients

- Follow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelines

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program, preferably at the master’s level
Certification and licensure:
- Current Washington State RN and ARNP licenses
- Certification from a national certifying body
- Current prescriptive authority in the state of Washington
- ACLS preferred
Experience:
- Prefer three years of professional experience as a nurse practitioner in an area directly related to the position.
Additional Requirements:
- At least 3 years of musculoskeletal experience working in a podiatry or orthopedic foot and ankle clinic (i.e. not just wound care, diabetic foot care, nail care).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics of the foot and ankle.
- Ability to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal, dermatological, neurological, and vascular conditions of the foot and ankle.
- Ability to work independently, but as a part of a team of providers.
- Ability to discern those patients whose condition would benefit from consultation with DPM, including surgical consultation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- History of strong patient satisfaction scores.
- Professional references who have firsthand experience regarding the applicant’s skill-set.
