About the role

The healthcare industry is changing rapidly with several market dynamics significantly impacting the patient care continuum. Among these dynamics is the increase in consumer empowerment and the importance of the referral pathway. Boston Scientific sees this as an exciting opportunity to ‘Advance Science for Life’ by developing important new capabilities that meet the shifting demands of the patients we serve.

The Direct-to-Referrer (DTR) Marketing Manager, DTP & DTR Center of Excellence will drive Boston Scientific’s efforts to harness the DTR opportunity and to build essential global capabilities required to plan, execute, and measure best-in-class referrer marketing. These capabilities will enable our Divisions and Regions to identify and seize unmet or underdeveloped market opportunities and to develop industry leading programs to reach and impact referrers.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience determining the opportunity to reach and impact referring physicians and developing, executing, and measuring digital and non-digital HCP marketing programs (preferably including referring physicians). This role will report to the Senior Manager of Patient and Referrer marketing in the DTP&R Center of Excellence.

Your responsibilities will include:

The DTR Marketing Manager will be a subject matter expert on all Direct-to-Referrer marketing efforts at BSC. This includes:

  • Reviewing current and planned DTR marketing campaigns and DTR structures across BSC and among top competitors.
  • Developing a strategic framework for DTR marketing at Boston Scientific to be launched in 2020 in collaboration with the global marketing capabilities team.
  • Providing guidance to Business Units and Regions to identify, activate, and accelerate DTR marketing opportunities including supporting referrer insight research and development.
  • Partnering with key franchises on the development and optimization of integrated referrer marketing plans with clearly defined objectives and value propositions, effective strategies and tactics, and actionable measurement.
  • Connecting stakeholders, driving awareness, and sharing learnings and best practices across franchises.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree required. MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience in life sciences or med tech industry strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of product or integrated communications marketing experience.
  • Deep knowledge of brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and digital technology platforms.
  • Experience leading both cross-functional teams and external agencies.
  • Significant experience in HCP marketing planning and measurement, ideally with a focus on referrers.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including developing relationships, influencing, and collaborating at all levels in the organization.
  • Successful leadership and project management experience.
  • Ability to influence, communicate to, and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Clear communication to senior level audiences, including Marketing VPs Executive Committee.
