About the role

The healthcare industry is changing rapidly with several market dynamics significantly impacting the patient care continuum. Among these dynamics is the rise of consumer empowerment and the increasingly proactive role patients are taking in the management of their healthcare. The Direct-to-Patient Marketing Manager, DTP & DTR Center of Excellenc e will drive Boston Scientific’s efforts to harness the DTP opportunity and to build essential global capabilities required to plan, execute, and measure best-in-class patient marketing. These capabilities will enable our Divisions and Regions to identify and seize unmet or underdeveloped market opportunities and to develop industry leading programs to reach patients and encourage them to discuss appropriate BSC devices and therapies with their physicians. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Patient and Referrer marketing in the DTP&R Center of Excellence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as thought leader for best-practices in pan-enterprise DTP value propositions and positioning.
  • Support Business Units and Regions to develop patient insights uncovering unique and differentiated DTP strategies and programs.
  • Provide guidance to Boston Scientific Business Units and Regions to identify, activate and accelerate DTP marketing opportunities.
  • Support the Business Units and Regions to create integrated patient marketing plans with clearly defined objectives, effective strategies and tactics, and actionable measurement.
  • Support the Business Units and Regions in their planning, execution, and measurement of DTP marketing, focusing on lead generation, nurturing, and attribution via both traditional and novel digital channels.
  • Collaborate with Maximizing Marketing Value team to build pan-BSC marketing DTP skillset through training and sharing of best practices.
  • Drive pan-BSC Patient Brand positioning and marketing communication efforts.
  • Support pan-BSC DTP marketing communications strategy including digital marketing communication programs.
  • Identify and implement new DTP insight, data, digital marketing and other capabilities/platforms that can be shared across all divisions.
  • Lead ideation, planning, and engagement for enterprise patient programs such as Patient Advisory Boards and Patient Ambassador digitization.
  • Partner with franchises on their Patient Advocacy Group strategies and develop internal guidance on engagement.
  • Partner with Close the Gap on diversity marketing initiatives and best practices across franchises.
  • Partner closely with Global Digital Marketing and the SFDC team on One Contact Per Patient enterprise program.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree required. MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience in life sciences or med tech industry strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of product or integrated communications marketing experience.
  • Deep knowledge of brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and digital technology platforms.
  • Experience leading both cross-functional teams and external agencies.
  • Significant experience in direct-to-patient or consumer-focused marketing planning and measurement.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including developing relationships, influencing, and collaborating at all levels in the organization.
  • Successful leadership and project management experience.
  • Ability to influence and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Clear communication to senior level audiences, including Marketing VPs Executive Committee.
