In your role, you will:
As part of the Materials and Processes engineering team you will be responsible to perform a diversified range of engineering tasks related to the Global 7500/8000 Wing program.
In your role, you will:
• Provide primary technical expertise and leadership in resolving design, manufacturing, certification, and compliance issues interacting with Suppliers, Operations, Quality, Customer Support and Supply Chain departments
• Be responsible to ensure that designs meet all material and processes requirements
• Perform technical reviews and approval of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, technique sheets, test reports and qualification reports
• Perform technical audits and follow-ups on corrective actions
• Support design change incorporation, product improvement and/or new product development initiatives
• Be required to handle difficult issues and make challenging technical decisions
• Provide clear visibility to management of the status and/or emerging issues related to the supported activities
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate,
• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Materials, Metallurgy or Chemical)
• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry directly related to metallic materials and manufacturing processes used in aircraft structures
• You have hands-on experience with one or more of the following fields:
o Qualification of forgings, extrusions, castings and other material forms
o Aerospace surface finishing, including plating, anodizing, chemical milling, conversion coating and organic finishing
o Aerospace fastener selection, qualification, and installation requirements
o Metallic materials failure analysis
o Complementary expertise or experience in NDT of aerospace components, FPI, MPI, Eddy-Current and UT is a definite asset
• You know how to conduct technical audits of the manufacturing processes in-line with your field of expertise
• You must have technical knowledge of typical military and/or aerospace industry standards such as Military specifications, Federal specifications, SAE specifications, etc
• You have a good knowledge of aircraft structures and mechanical system integration (Fuel, Hydraulic, EWIS etc.)
• You are familiar with Quality systems (eg. ISO, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.)
• You have shown strong leadership, problem solving, project, and time/priority management skills in your past assignments
• You have excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
• You are able to work in a cross functional team environment and interact on a daily basis with other professionals and technicians
• You have a good working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office, CATIA V5, Enovia etc. Experience with Bombardier in-house applications is a definite asset.
