Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer, Communications, Enablement & Events, the Graphic Designer is responsible for supporting the graphic design needs of Technology & Operations, including Strategy Transformation and Enterprise Operations (STEO) and T&O Corporate Communications. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders across RBC and will be responsible for designing engaging and compelling digital assets, including infographics and videos, as well as print collateral for internal communications, to drive understanding and awareness of T&O strategy and employee engagement.

What will you do?

  • Design compelling digital assets and print collateral, develop and create video and motion graphics and infographics to be hosted on intranet sites and shown at internal events
  • Create user-friendly internal RBC web experiences for T&O Design Hub and other internal sites. Design support for communications, events, and innovation programs, and occasional HTML/CSS editing and UI prototyping
  • Design direction decisions and execution process decisions for internal communications presentations/print documents
  • Recommends art direction and design for all visual elements for internal communications presentations/print documents
  • Manages budget for outside photography, purchasing of stock imagery, music and video
  • Establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders (including executives) to effectively manage the creative design and execution for internal Communications campaigns & initiatives
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure print and promotional material meet brand and quality standards
  • Create user-friendly internal RBC web experiences for intranet sites, with occasional HTML/CSS editing

What do you need to succeed?

Nice to have:

  • Proficient at using the Adobe suite of design programs including Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop.
  • UI prototyping for innovation programs, with occasional HTML/CSS editing, as well as designing presentation slides in PowerPoint for events
  • Experience in online, email, print layout and design including brochures, posters and other corporate collateral, and event design
  • Capable of following direction and adhering to brand standards, while also being a motivated self-starter who can manage up and manage timelines, debate design philosophies and easily adapt to an ever-changing workflow.
  • Able to take existing copy and briefs and improve upon them to ensure that your design aesthetic and the copy work seamlessly together

Nice to have:

  • Preferred: Graphic Design or Interactive Media Design Diploma/Degree
